Consecration of Isle Of Ely Preceptory No. 677.

This took place on Saturday 27th June 2009 at the Masonic Hall, Silver Street, Ely. CB7 4JF.

The Consecrating Officer was Rt. Em. Kt Geoffrey Hewitt Provincial Prior, was assisted by Em. Kt. Martin Richard Beardall P.Gt.St.B (B), Provincial Sub-Prior as the Installing Officer.

Having opened and appointed his officers, the Provincial Prelate, V. Em. Kt. Richard Shipp P.Gt Herald, was called upon for an oration.

The Knight Petitioners took their places and the Provincial Prior then proceeded to consecrate the Preceptory with the corn, wine and oil with the Prelate giving an invocation between.

The Prelate then censed the Preceptory.

The Standards were raised and the dedication and consecration took place.

Heralds then proclaimed and the Prelate offered prayers.

The Installing Officer assumed the throne and installed Em. Kt. Dr. Kingsley G. Branch P.Gt. Deputy Sword Bearer as the first Preceptor in due form, who then appointed his officers as follows:

Registrar: E.Knight G.P.P Lattka.
Treasurer: E.Knight R. Hough.
Assistant Registrar: E.Knight D.G.Johnson.
Marshal: E.Knight P.C.Gillingwater.
Deputy Marshal: E.Knight T.J.Benton.
Almoner: Knight R.H.Smith.
1st Herald: Knight R.Shields.
2nd Herald: Knight F.J.W.Brown.
Standard Bearer (B): Knight B.C.Thrower.
Standard Bearer (VB): Knight M.J.Allen.
Guard: Knight A.Summersgill.
Arch of Steel:
Commander: Knight J.L.Clarke.
Deputy Commander: N.C.Williams.
Knight C.G.Bell.
Knight R.N.Brown.
Knight I.Gray.
Steward: Knight M.J.Allen.
Immediate Past Preceptor: E.Knight A.J.Brazier.

After the alms and proposals were given the consecrating officers retired in procession.

A banquet was held and the future success for the Isle Of Ely Preceptory were given and received with acclaim.
